ABOUT ME

My name is Ashton Bruce. I am a senior at North Forsyth High School participating in the Honors Mentorship Program with a specialized interest in graphic design. I interned with Derek Brooks, owner of Brandywine Printing, from August 2017 to May 2018, where I learned about the software and design aspect of graphic design through hands-on learning but also the business and manufacturing aspect in helping Derek handle orders and products.

I decided to intern in graphic design because I've always been interested in art. Although I had limited experience with digital art and preferred traditional medium, graphic design was a way for me to turn my passion in creative works into a career that's booming with the technological advancements made in recent decades.

The Honors Mentorship Program was a way to help me decide and narrow what my interests are for when I go to college. I'm going to attend the University of Georgia in fall of 2018, and with a previously undecided and unclear major, I now have a more specialized and specific idea of what I would like to study in future years.
